VILLAGE OF DEPEW AND TOPS CUT RIBBON ON LITTLE FREE LENDING LIBRARY
This evening the Village of Depew officially cut the ribbon on the first of five Little Free Lending Libraries. Tops was proud to be a part of the ceremony donating hundreds of books for readers of all ages and abilities to help kick start the program. The first library, which was funded and installed by Sefar Inc. on Calumet St. was designed and constructed by 16 year old Ryan Coons, a Boy Scout Eagle Candidate from Troop 554 who took on this project in order to earn one of his merit badges. Ryan, who has never constructed a book nook really enjoyed the project and thanked his parents, troop leader Roberta Wojcinski , and the other adults who helped him with the project.

Ryan will construct the remaining four lending libraries which will be located across the street from the Boys and Girls Club in the park on Preston St., in the Depew Senior Center by the Village Hall, in the Tri Community Food Pantry on Terrace Blvd., and by Lord of Life Church on Borden Rd. The five libraries are registered and chartered with the Little Lending Free Libraries officially putting them on the US Map for the program. Our thanks to Tops Community Champion Audrey Hamernick for her vision in bringing this important educational resource to the community.
