TOPS MARKETS ANNOUNCES CLOSING DATES FOR TWO CLEVELAND STORES
Buffalo, NY - Tops Markets today announced the closing dates for two area stores. The Clark Avenue store is scheduled to close on Saturday, May 7 and the Solon location, at 33311 Aurora Road, will cease operations on Saturday, May 14. Tops announced plans to close the two stores on April 8.

As announced earlier this month, Tops is opting not to renew the leases on the two small, aging facilities. Tops currently operates 49 stores in Northeast Ohio and these closures are designed to strengthen Tops market position in the region.

"It is essential for Tops to change processes and capitalize on efficiencies in order to remain competitive in the market," stated Dennis Hanley, regional vice president. "While closing these stores are painful in the short-term, they will help us preserve jobs and grow our business in the future."

Tops Markets, LLC is one of four retail-operating companies under Ahold USA, and the leading supermarket chain in Western New York. Tops currently operates 154 Tops Markets in three states in addition to two Martin's Super Food Stores. Founded in 1962, Tops employs nearly 18,000 associates.
