TOPS SUPPORTS JEFFERSON AVENUE BEAUTIFICATION
Buffalo, NY - Tops Markets announced today that it has donated $5,000 to support the Jefferson Avenue Beautification Program initiated by Masten District Council Member Antoine M. Thompson and 7th District Legislator Demone A. Smith. Tops was recognized for its support by Councilmember Thompson in a ceremony held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2005 in front of the Tops store located at Jefferson and Riley.

Tops' donation was used for the purchase of benches that would be placed throughout the designated area on Jefferson Avenue between East Utica Street and Main Street. Additional funds secured for the project will be used to purchase banners, flower planters and debris receptacles for the Jefferson Avenue commercial strip.

"It is through the vision and leadership of Councilmember Thompson, that the Jefferson Avenue community will become a better place to live and do business," stated Max Henderson, executive vice president and general manager for Tops, "and it is our duty as a member of this community and a pleasure to help support this all-important effort."
