DERBY TOPS TO REMAIN OPEN THROUGH TRANSITION TO MARTIN'S SUPER FOOD STORE
Buffalo, NY - Tops Markets announced today that in response to customer reaction to the planned closing of the Derby Tops during construction of the new Martin's store, Tops has reworked its construction plans so Tops will close the night prior to the Martin's opening.

Previous plans called for the Derby store to close for approximately eight weeks before the opening of the Martin's Super Food Store. "We had such tremendous feedback from the community that we were able to rework our construction plans so that our customers will not be inconvenienced by Tops closing prior to the opening of Martin's," stated Max Henderson, executive vice president and general manager of Tops.

In order to accommodate the new construction schedule, the construction of the fuel facility will be delayed until after the new store opens. This allows for added parking spaces, until the old store can be demolished. "We will still be very challenged with providing enough parking spaces and hope that our customers will understand and be patient until we can get the old store demolished and the lot repaved," Henderson continued.

Tops will be looking for parking spaces off-site for their associates in order to keep as many spaces free for customers as is possible. The new Martin's Super Food Store is scheduled to open late in the year.
