TAPPING INTO TRADITIONS: TOPS PARTNERS WITH LOCAL MAPLE FARMS TO BRING YOU THE SWEETEST MAPLE SYRUP
Williamsville, NY – At Tops, we take great pride in partnering with local maple sugaring farms to bring the sweetest, most delicious maple syrup to your table for your family to enjoy. Especially during maple sugaring season, we encourage you to support our hardworking local farmers who tap into nature’s bounty, transforming pure maple sap into the golden delight that graces your pancakes, waffles, and more.

We’re proud to partner with both New York and Vermont based farms including Butternut Mountain Farm, who produces TOPS BRAND Maple Syrup, Adirondack Maple Farms, and Tree Juice Maple Syrup—just some of the many producers who have been dedicated to crafting high-quality, pure maple syrup using time-honored techniques and sustainable practices, some for over 50 years! “I think what's special about Maple is what it isn't. It isn't a complex manufactured food. It's a simple, real food and one ingredient. It's healthy, it tastes really good, and the consumption of maple syrup is good not just the economy, but for the environment, because we use these trees and this land in a very respectful and sustainable way,” said founder of Butternut Mountain Farms, David Marvin. “Consuming pure maple syrup is a really a gift to oneself, because it's a very special, unique flavor, an opportunity to sweeten foods with a very healthy, naturally made, inherently organic product that comes from well maintained and long lived forests in eastern North America, there is nothing that replicates pure maple flavor to get it and to get it right, it has to come from a tree.”

You can find TOPS BRAND Maple Syrup made by Butternut Mountain Farm, and many other locally sourced Maple Syrup products on Tops shelves to enjoy year round, but be sure to visit them during Maple Sugaring weekend, March 22-23 and March 29-30.

Did You Know? ?? ?? New York State is the second-largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S., with over 2.9 million maple trees tapped annually. ?? It takes about 40 gallons of maple sap to produce just one gallon of syrup! ?? Maple sap flows best when daytime temperatures rise above freezing while nights remain cold, making late February through early April peak sugaring season. ?? Native Americans were the first to discover maple sugaring, passing down their knowledge to early settlers. ?? Pure maple syrup contains over 50 antioxidants and essential minerals like calcium, potassium, and zinc—making it a natural, wholesome sweetener!

Celebrate the season by picking up a bottle of locally sourced maple syrup from our Tops shelves and savor the sweet tradition of New York State! ????
