TOPS MARKETS' ONE-DAY GIVE-A-THON RESULTS IN MORE THAN 3 TONS OF FOOD FOR NORTHEAST OHIO FOOD BANKS
Customers give Hope for the Holidays to families in need

Cleveland, OH - Tops Markets' first-ever Food Bank Give-a-Thon resulted in more than 3 tons of food and over $1,800 to benefit the Cleveland Food Bank, Akron-Canton Food Bank and the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio. Customers donated non-perishable food or funds at five Tops locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Elyria, Euclid, Garfield and Parmatown during the one-day event held Friday, November 18.

"Thank you to all of our customers for their overwhelming generosity in giving back to their community and lending a hand to those in need," said Dennis Hanley, regional vice president, Tops Markets. "Local reaction was tremendous and customers continued to donate food throughout the rest of the weekend at our five Tops locations. With their donations of food and money, families across Northeast Ohio will be able to enjoy a brighter holiday season this year."

Tops customers can still help support their regional food bank and the Salvation Army through Hope for the Holidays. This shopper friendly program encourages customers to add $1 to their grocery bill to help support food banks and the Salvation Army this holiday season. The program runs through December 3, 2005.
