TOPS MARKETS DONATES OVER $6,000 IN PROCEEDS FROM TASTE OF BUFFALO TO FOOD BANK OF WNY | |
Buffalo, NY - TOPS Markets officials today announced it will donate the proceeds from the supermarket chain's sales at the annual food festival to the Food Bank of Western New York. TOPS Markets is giving 100 percent of its gross ticket earnings from its tent at this year's Taste for a total donation of $6,026. TOPS is also the only food server at the Taste that donates all of its proceeds to a community organization. "The Taste is all about food and who provides more help for the hungry in Western New York than the Food Bank. We are proud to help the Food Bank to feed those less fortunate by donating the proceeds from our Taste tent," said Max. Henderson, Jr., executive vice president and general manager. "We would like to thank our generous festival-going customers for visiting the TOPS tent and making their contribution throughout the weekend." First held in 1984, the Taste of Buffalo presented by TOPS is the nation's second largest food festival, attracting more than 400,000 people to this year's festival held July 7 and 8 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square. TOPS Markets, LLC, one of the leading supermarket operations in the U.S., currently operates stores in New York and Pennsylvania under the names of TOPS Markets and Martin's Super Food Stores. Headquartered in Williamsville, NY, TOPS is a division of Giant Food Stores in Carlisle, PA. As a company, TOPS is proud to work with hundreds of local organizations in the communities it serves and has a long-standing commitment to eradicate hunger and improve the quality of life for children.
