GIANT, TOPS AND MARTIN'S REMOVE ALL VARIETIES OF BANQUET FROZEN POT PIES FROM STORE SHELVES | |
Carlisle, PA - Officials from Giant Food Stores, TOPS Markets and Martin's Food Markets announced that all varieties of Banquet brand frozen pot pies are being recalled by ConAgra Foods due to possible Salmonella contamination. To avoid any confusion on pot pie varieties, ConAgra yesterday simplified the recall to include all Banquet pot pie varieties including chicken, turkey and beef. Earlier this week, Giant, TOPS and Martin's voluntarily pulled three varieties of Banquet frozen pot pies as a precautionary measure. When ConAgra expanded the recall to include all frozen pot pie varieties, Giant, TOPS and Martin's immediately removed all varieties from stores. Customers who have purchased the product may return the unused portion or a product label to their local store for a full refund. Based on shelf life, consumers could still have these products in their freezers and are advised to look for, return or discard, and not eat these products if they find them. Consumers with questions about Banquet brand pot pies can call 1-866-484-8671 or contact online at www.conagrafoods.com/contactus. Giant Food Stores, LLC, one of the leading supermarket operations in the U.S., currently operates stores in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the names of Giant Food Stores, TOPS Markets, Martin's Food Markets and Foodsource.
