Williamsville, NY - The Perinton location of Martin's Super Food Stores successfully completed its conversion to a Tops Markets location today, as Tops Markets, LLC moves forward with its previously announced plan to operate all of its stores under one name.

The store will continue to have the same management team and the same number of associates. The most significant change customers will notice is the name. As part of the conversion process, all interior and exterior signage has been changed along with numerous other subtle changes indicating the Tops Markets brand.

The Perinton store, located at 6720 Pittsford/Palmyra Rd., is the second of four Martin's Super Food Stores in Western New York to convert to Tops Markets. The Martin's store in Batavia changed to Tops Markets last week, while stores in Derby and Dunkirk will convert in early March.

"I am looking forward to being able to run a more efficient business under the Tops name," said Cheryl Emerling, store manager at the Perinton location. "We'll still offer our customers the same great quality, variety, prices and service that we have for the past several years, we'll just be doing it under a different brand."

Tops Markets, LLC has been operating the Martin's Super Food Stores and announced plans last month to convert them to Tops Markets. This action was spurred by Morgan Stanley Private Equity's acquisition of Tops Markets last December. Ahold USA, the former owner of Tops Markets, continues to operate stores under the name Martin's Food Markets in six northeastern and Mid-Atlantic States.

"The decision to change the name from Martin's to Tops at these four locations is definitely the right one," said John Persons, senior vice president for Tops Markets. "Under one name we can focus entirely on the Tops brand, our weekly offerings and promotions, and placing even more emphasis on customer service for our shoppers."

Associates working at the Perinton Tops Markets store will wear t-shirts designed by employee Jamie Dekdebrun, a customer operations manager from Fairport. Associates at each of the four Martin's locations were given an opportunity to design new shirts to be worn during and after the conversion to Tops Markets. Dekdebrun's winning design was chosen by a panel of judges from various departments at Tops Markets' corporate office.

For their convenience, customers will still be able to use their Martin's BONUSCARD at this or any Tops Markets location. Shoppers can also sign up for a Tops BONUSCARD by visiting any Tops' customer service desk.
