| TOPS MARKETS DONATES MORE THAN $550,000 IN THE FIGHT AGAINST JUVENILE DIABETES

| Williamsville, NY – Through the generous support of customers and associates, TOPS Markets once again exceeded projections raising a total of $555,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Customers purchased paper sneakers for $1 at the checkout, from April 20 through May 10 to help raise funds in the fight against juvenile diabetes. TOPS associates also supported JDRF by participating in walk events in Buffalo, Rochester and Elmira throughout the month of May as well as planned fundraising events of their own like golf outings, bowling tournaments, hot dog sales, auctions and raffles. “This year, the generous support of our customers and associates have allowed us to raise the most to-date in the fight against juvenile diabetes said Frank Curci, Tops Markets president and CEO. “Because of this we have been able to continue to support JDRF for more than two decades, as well as other worthwhile causes in our local communities. We again want to thank all of those for their donations and walk participation, which made this year the best to date!” Monies raised from this year’s campaign goes to support two local chapters of JDRF in TOPS’ operating areas. In 2007, JDRF Buffalo Niagara chapter will receive $372,892 and JDRF Rochester chapter will receive $182,407. Since 1993, TOPS Markets and its customers have raised more than $5.1 million to support juvenile diabetes research.
