TOPS FRIENDLY MARKETS TO DISCONTINUE PHOTO FILM PROCESSING IN 75 OUT OF 76 LOCATIONS | |
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, the leading full-service grocery retailer in Western New York, Central New York, including Rochester, and Northwestern Pennsylvania, announced today that as of March 1 the company will no longer accept film or one-time use cameras for processing in 75 of its 76 locations. The location in Perinton, NY will continue to process film. This decision was made in anticipation of Tops’ film processor, Qualex Inc., closing in March 2009. Tops will accept orders through Sunday for film processing and will hold customers’ processed photos until April 30, 2009. Tops still will carry photography products such as camera film and single-use cameras. The change will not affect any full or part-time jobs at Tops Markets. Tops Markets, LLC, is headquartered in Williamsville, NY and operates 71 full-service supermarkets and five franchise supermarkets. With over 10,000 associates, Tops is the leading full-service grocery retailer in Western New York, Central New York, including Rochester, and Northwestern Pennsylvania.
