MAJOR RENOVATION TRANSFORMS FORMER B-KWIK STORE INTO TOPS FRIENDLY MARKETS
EXPANDED STORE OFFERS MORE SELECTION, TIM HORTONS

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, the leading full-service grocery retailer in Western New York, Central New York, including Rochester, and Northwestern Pennsylvania, today held a grand re-opening celebration to mark the completion of a major renovation of the South Buffalo B-Kwik family-owned and operated franchise location.

Originally opened in 1968, the former 12,000 square-foot small-scale grocery store, located at 1989 Seneca Street in the heart of South Buffalo, has been transformed into an 18,000 square-foot, one-stop shopping Tops location offering customers many amenities that they couldn’t formerly experience. The newly enhanced store provides customers with hundreds of new product offerings including an expanded selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, an enhanced deli with the addition of a specialty cheese section, and the introduction of EasyScan registers, making shopping easier and more convenient.

Part of the renovation of the South Buffalo location also includes a new full-serve Tim Hortons outlet, serving fresh brewed coffee, select cold beverages, baked goods, soup and sandwiches.

“Our family has a long history of doing business in the South Buffalo Community, beginning with the first store my Father and Uncle opened on Abbott and Woodside in 1949,” said Phil Perna, Tops franchise owner. “Making the change to the Tops Markets banner was an easy decision. Our Customers know and trust the Tops name, and they know they are going to get the products they need at a great value.”

Other changes at the store include new interior and exterior décor, expanded dairy and frozen sections, the addition of fresh store prepared rotisserie chicken, a frozen seafood section and increased seasonal merchandise. (more) “The store’s new and renovated features are centered around an increased selection of products, and ensuring customers that they can get what they need at their neighborhood Tops.” said Sherri Becker, who has been the store manager at the South Park location for nine years. “Shoppers are going to
