The mission of the Tops Friendly Markets Foundation, which was founded in 2002, is to support our community with programs that educate our youth and feed those in need.

Only applications that support the foundation’s mission will be considered. Furthermore, they must be a tax-exempt organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3), and must be requesting funding for a special project or program, not to cover administrative or operating expenses.

Grant submissions must include: 1. A completed application form. 2. Summary of program or project not to exceed two pages, including:  Description of program/project  Immediate impact it will have on the community  Who it will benefit and how many people will be impacted  Timetable  Other similar projects in same market  Measurements for success 3. Mission statement of organization. 4. List of board members. 5. Administrative expenses as a percentage of total expenses and fundraising expenses as a percentage of dollars raised (based on the past two years). 6. Number of paid staff and number of volunteers. 7. Past history of funding from Tops Friendly Markets Foundation (if applicable). 8. Proof of 501(c)(3) designation. 9. Name and address of representative making request.

All applicants will be notified in writing of their final status by March 30th. -end-
