WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, today held a grand re-opening celebration to mark the completion of a new store in the City of Geneva, NY, a $5 million project, including the addition of a fueling facility.

The 51,364 square-foot location is located at 381 Hamilton Street in the City of Geneva, NY. The new store replaces the Tops store previously located at Route 5&20, in the Pyramid Mall.

“In order to continue to provide the best possible service to the Geneva community, we made the decision to replace our existing Geneva store,” said Frank Curci, Top president and CEO. “The store’s new features provide an increased selection of products, easier navigation, as well as the addition of a new fueling facility for added convenience and increased savings.”

Grand opening ceremonies featured the participation of Tops Markets executives, local community leaders, and store associates. As part of the grand opening celebration, Tops Markets made a $500 donation to each of the following five local organizations: Geneva Police Department, Geneva Volunteer Fire Department, Boys & Girls Club, Finger Lakes Youth Sports and The Geneva Center of Concern.

At the new Geneva Tops store, customers will enjoy major upgrades and expansions to the floral, produce, bakery, deli, meat/ seafood, and dairy/frozen departments, as well as an enhanced Tops’ Carry Out Café, where customers can find a salad bar, olive bar and delicious prepared foods. Included in the new store is the addition of self check-out stations and a Tim Horton’s self-serve kiosk offering fresh brewed coffee, select cold beverages and baked goods as well as overall enhanced décor. The store also includes an in-store pharmacy as well as a Citizens Bank branch. Customers who shop at the new Geneva location will be able to redeem their fuel rewards right at the pump through Tops Markets’ GasPoints program. Shoppers who use their BonusPlus or BonusCard at nearby Tops locations will earn points on qualifying purchases. Customers earn one GasPoint for every dollar they spend and can track the points at the bottom of their receipt. Every $100 a customer spends equals $.10 off per gallon of Tops gasoline. To redeem the points, customers just scan their BonusPlus or BonusCard at a Tops gas pump. The savings can equal 10, 20, 30 cents or more off per gallon.

The fueling facility will consist of three, double-sided, self-service fuel dispensers, offering three grades of high-quality gasoline: regular, mid-grade and premium. Customers will have their choice of paying at the pump using a major credit card, or at the walk-in Tops kiosk. Within the kiosk, customers will also be able to purchase snack food items, beverages, NY state lottery instant and on-line games, automotive maintenance items, such as windshield wiper fluid and motor oil, local and national newspapers, and other seasonal items.
