WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. September 2, 2014– Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, in partnership with the Buffalo Bills and Campbell’s® Chunky™ soup, the Official Soup Sponsor of the NFL, have announced the “Tackling Hunger with the Buffalo Bills” program for the 2014 football season.

Beginning September 7, for every tackle the Buffalo Bills make during the 2014 season, Campbell’s Chunky soup will donate 20 cans of Campbell’s soup to food banks in western and upstate New York (the Food Bank of Western New York, Rochester Foodlink, The Food Bank of Central New York, and The Food Bank of the Southern Tier) to help close the nutrition gap among families in need.

Tops’ President and CEO Frank Curci, Kiko Alonso, Buffalo Bills linebacker, representatives from Campbell’s and representatives from each of the four food banks receiving the donation, were on hand to discuss this program as well as the growing need for the services these organizations provide in the western New York area.

"As Bills players, it's great that we're able to help families in need in western New York simply by making tackles and playing the game of football," said Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso. "With Campbell's Chunky Soup and Tops making these donations possible, it's sure to be a great 2014 season on and off the field."

“Helping to eradicate hunger is the lead component of our community mission,” said Frank Curci, Tops’ president and CEO. “The Food Banks in the areas we serve do so much for our neighbors and we are dedicated to supporting the important work of these organizations. Along with our partners at the Buffalo Bills and Campbell’s Chunky Soup, we are proud to introduce this program.”

A digital Bills “Tackle Tracker” will be available on to keep track of the number of tackles that the Buffalo Bills have been made during the season.

In addition to the “Tackling Hunger with the Buffalo Bills” program, Buffalo Bills Linebacker Kiko Alonso is sharing some of his favorite game-day recipes in four 15-second “Kiko in the Kitchen” video spots. Kiko will be preparing four delicious dip recipes using Chunky soup. The videos can be found on
