North Buffalo resident, Cindi Wilson racks up $1,114.86 worth of groceries in shopping spree

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, announced today that Cindi Wilson of Buffalo, NY was the winner of a three minute shopping spree that took place at the Buffalo Tops Friendly Markets on Elmwood Ave. Customers who contributed to Tops’ United Way front end campaign were automatically entered to win the three-minute Tops Markets shopping spree, and Cindi’s name was drawn as the winner.

Customers and Tops associates cheered Wilson on as she raced up and down the aisles of the store, located at 2101 Elmwood Ave adding items like crab legs, olive oil , and specialty cheeses to her cart. In addition to grocery items, Wilson grabbed items with larger price tags like pots and pans and even a Keurig® coffee maker.

“We made a list and practiced our shopping route prior to the shopping spree.” said Cindi whose order totaled $1,114.86.

“Cindy did a great job and was very enthusiastic about the shopping spree, making the day enjoyable for all.” said Tim Tripi, Store Manager of the Tops Markets on Elmwood. “As one of our regular customers from the neighborhood, seeing Cindi win this shopping spree made the experience even better. It’s always a great feeling when we can give back to our neighbors and help excellent causes like our local United Way agencies. Our Tops store was more than happy that we could be a part of this special day as we continue to serve and help our neighbors in need.”

This year, customers who shopped at Tops helped raise nearly $70,000 through the company’s United Way front-end campaign that benefited the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, as well as the United Way of Niagara County. This is the second year that Tops has run the campaign in its Erie and Niagara County stores.
