| Buffalo resident, Salvatore Ventura racked up $871.53 worth of groceries in shopping spree WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, announced today that Salvatore Ventura of Buffalo, NY was the winner of a three-minute shopping spree that took place at the Tops Friendly Markets at 345 Amherst Street in Buffalo, NY. Customers who shopped during the store’s grand reopening celebration in October were automatically entered to win the three-minute shopping spree, and Ventura’s name was selected as the winner. Customers and Tops associates cheered Ventura on as he raced up and down the aisles of the store, adding items like paper towels, coffee, and specialty meats to his cart. In addition to grocery items, Ventura grabbed items with larger price tags like pots and pans and even a Keurig® coffee maker. “We had stock-up items on our list, so we wanted to grab as many paper products as possible.” said Salvatore whose order totaled $871.53. “Salvatore was very energetic and excited to win the contest, and the timing was perfect for his expanding family this holiday season,” said Jay Knavel, store manager at the Tops Markets on Amherst Street. “At Tops, we are truly neighbors helping neighbors within our community.
