Ribbon-Cutting Held for Stores in Depew and West Seneca, Which Feature Many New Amenities

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, today announced the completion of nearly $3 million in renovations to two stores in Erie County.

Renovations at the Tops store located at 6363 Transit Road in Depew totaled $1.5 million. The upgrades to the store at 800 Harlem Road in West Seneca totaled $1.4 million. These renovations are a part of more than $35 million in store upgrades expected to be completed in 2016.

“We’re excited to complete this multi-million dollar renovation to two stores in our own backyard,” said John Persons, Tops’ president and chief operating officer. “Customers will be able to choose from a fresher, wider variety of products in a new, welcoming environment.”

To commemorate today’s celebration of Flag Day, these two Tops locations are collecting worn U.S. flags, which will then be provided to local VFW posts for proper disposal.

As part of Tops’ commitment to these communities, individual $500 donations were made during the ribbon-cutting ceremonies to various organizations. The groups in Depew receiving donations include the Boys and Girls Club of Depew, Bowmansville Fire Department, Depew Fire Department, St. Martha's Food Pantry, Hillview Elementary School and John Sciole Elementary School.
