WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets is moving its freezer warehouse to an expansive 200,000 square foot facility located at 5000 N. America Drive in West Seneca beginning Thursday, August 18, 2016. Having outgrown their existing warehouse (spanning 95,000 square feet) in Cheektowaga, Tops needed to find a facility that allowed the supermarket chain to increase the item mix and also support the company’s growth plans.

Moving forward this will increase Tops Markets efficiency and allow it to offer more variety and selection for shoppers. The new facility has the capacity of holding 2,500 sku’s and ensures that the company will no longer have to rely on outside storage.

Additional improvements to the warehouse will be made in the coming months which include LED lighting, safety lights, and new dock seals which will enhance operational efficiencies. The warehouse will continue to employee 64 Associates with the potential to adjust accordingly as Tops grows its store count. The new facility, as well as the existing warehouse, is owned by the same landlord, Allied. “We are so excited to be in a warehouse that is twice the size of our old facility to help us grow and continue to offer our customers all their favorite frozen foods in the future. We want to thank our partners at Allied Frozen Storage for all their help. Throughout this whole process the team at Allied Frozen Storage, and especially our Tops Associates, have been extremely helpful and supportive, ensuring that this transition is successful and seamless,” said Kevin Darrington, executive vice president of Supply Chain & Information Technology for Tops Markets, LLC.
