| BUFFALO, N.Y. Americans have recognized black history month annually each February since 1926 and throughout this month Tops Markets is creating awareness of this important celebration by holding special store events across Western New York, Rochester and Cleveland. The celebration kicked-off on Thursday, February 4, 2004 at Tops in Buffalo at Jefferson and Riley. State Senator Byron Brown and Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples were joined by Buffalo Common Council members Antoine Thompson and Brian Davis who read proclamations and enjoyed live entertainment.
