TOPS FRIENDLY MARKETS DONATES 110 TURKEYS TO VIETNAM VETERANS AND ST. FRANCIS FOOD PANTRIES
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets was pleased to be joined by City of Tonawanda Council President, Jenna Koch, members of the Vietnam Veterans Food Pantry and the St. Francis Outreach Food Pantry this week for their annual Helping Our Neighbors Food Drive event. Frank Curci, Chairman and CEO of Tops Friendly Markets was joined by Tops associates, who are also Veterans, who presented the donation of 110 turkeys to both organizations on behalf of Tops Friendly Markets.

“Making donations to such worthy organizations like the Vietnam Veterans Food Pantry and St. Francis Outreach Food Pantry ties strongly into Tops mission of eradicating hunger in the communities we serve,” said Frank Curci, Chairman and CEO for Tops Friendly Markets. “Especially as we enter into this time of year we want to make sure that those in need in our community need not worry about where their next meal will come from so we are proud to partner with the City of Tonawanda to make this donation possible.”

This was the fourth year in a row that Tops has donated 110 turkeys to both organizations to benefit the food drive sponsored by Council President, Jenna Koch. “We are extremely blessed to have the support of our neighborhood grocery store for our Helping our Neighbors Food Drive,” said Koch. “We could not have done this without their commitment and dedication to our community and to these amazing organizations who provide meals to 365 days a year.”

Koch added that “with Thanksgiving right around the corner, our local grocery store has partnered with both organizations to ensure that families in need will have a warm Thanksgiving meal. We are all thankful that Tops Friendly Markets has once again stepped up to the plate and given back to our community.” Both organizations extended their deepest gratitude to the military men and women represented by both the Vietnam Veterans Food Pantry and those Tops personnel in attendance for their service. “We are extremely thankful this Thanksgiving to all the men and women who serve and have served our Country. We should all count our blessings every day for the brave men and women who serve and protect,” added Koch. “Tops is proud to be a long-time supporter of military associates and customers, including our support of the Honor Flight Missions, American Veterans Tribute Traveling Wall, sending care packages for troops serving domestically and overseas, and participation in veteran job fairs, parades and expo's,” said Curci. “Additionally every year Tops offers all Veterans and their immediate family members an 11% discount on Veteran’s day as our way of saying thank you for your service. On Veterans Day, we are especially reminded of their bravery and heroism and we honor their contribution to our nation,” said Curci.

The Helping our Neighbors food drive runs until November 17, 2018. Anyone interested in donating non- perishable items may do so at City Hall (200 Niagara Street), Senior Citizens Center (35 Main Street), Lane Jewelry (28 Seymour St), Squires Tap Room (127 Niagara St), or Partners in Art (79 Webster St). # # #
