TOPS ASSOCIATES SPENCER AND TOEPFER PROMOTED
Williamsville, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in New York, northern Pennsylvania, and Vermont, is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric Spencer and Ernie Toepfer.

Eric has been promoted to center–store field specialist covering Tops Buffalo’s southern district and Western, PA district. Eric Spencer started his career with Tops in 1996 where he was a cart clerk. Since that time he has advanced to hold various management positions in grocery, bulk, dairy/frozen and most recently holding the position of operations manager at the Tops store located at 6914 Erie Rd in Derby, NY. Eric and his family are residents of Lancaster.

Ernie Toepfer’s promotion now advances him to the role of center-store field specialist overseeing Tops Buffalo’s central and Buffalo North districts. Ernie began his career with Tops in 1988 at the Tops located at Harlem/Mineral Springs location in West Seneca, NY as a cart and bottle clerk. He then went on to hold position in grocery/price change while he attended vocational school. He took a leave from him career at Tops to serve in the US Marine Corp/Reserves as well as continue his education in 1992 before returning to Tops in 1999. Upon his return he continued to grow with Tops in roles including grocery manager, non-perishable manager, operations manager, and most recently assistant store manager at 1740 Sheridan Drive., Buffalo, NY. He and his family are residents of West Seneca, NY. ###
