WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in New York, northern Pennsylvania, and Vermont, is once again teaming up with the Boy Scouts for its annual Scouting for Food event. This year, the Seneca Waterways Council Boy Scouts of America is teaming up with 18 area Tops Friendly Markets locations to collect food for area food banks. Donations can be dropped off throughout the week of March 16-23 at the following Tops locations:

Scouts will be on hand March 16-March 23 to collect the donations as follows: Saturday, March 16 9am-3pm Sunday, March 17 9am-3pm Saturday, March 23 9am-3pm Monday - Friday March 18 to March 22 (6pm - 8pm only)

Non-perishable suggested items for donation include (but are not limited to): • Pasta & Rice • Canned items • Peanut Butter • Soups, Juices & Cereal • Paper Products & Toiletries • No glass containers “At Tops we are committed to eradicating hunger and enhancing the quality of life for children through education and by way of this food drive, we are not only educating our children about the importance of giving back and helping those less fortunate, but we are engaging them as well with each donation they help collect through their commitment with the Boy Scouts,” said Kathy Sautter, public and media relations manager for Tops Friendly Markets.

“The Scouting for Food drive is in its 31st year. It is our single largest community service project for our Scouts as it impacts thousands of families in need throughout our five-county area,” stated Stephen Hoitt, Scout executive and CEO for Seneca Waterways Council, Boy Scouts of America.
